Consider Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; father—son—grandson.
Fathers, if you think about it, the only faith that Abraham was required to exercise was faith for his own family, and, in the case of Abram, faith to have a family in the first place. (Genesis 15:1-6) Once their children were married and out of the nest, each subsequent son was required to exercise their own faith for their own families.
