Letter To Our Local Newspaper, From Our Son...
I was looking out the window trying to think of something to write about.
Then I took a long stare at my school room. I saw my school books and pop! I knew what to write about, School. I am home schooled, and because of it, I have the best and smartest teacher in the world. My evaluator says that I am very good at my schoolwork, and could be one year ahead of where I am. Every year I bring her a tide box full of school work. If you don’t know how big a tide box is, then I will tell you. It is about two feet long, and one and a half feet tall. I am not only taught Bible, Math, English, and Literature, P.E., and all of that, but I am taught the wonders of the Lord Jesus Christ, not Evolution or Darwinism. I am not a blob of goo. Thank you very much. I was created by God the Father in His holy Heaven which I am going to, since I am saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, Who died, was buried, and rose again, for my sins.
All I am trying to say is that homeschoolers should not be put down in society. You can teach your children (not kids/goats) what ever you want. You can think whatever you want, but I know I have the best Teacher and the One and only God.

"I put my children in public schools for many years then took them out and homeschooled them, at home. They made amazing gains in many subjects, but the best part of it was the reduction in stress. My children ate better, nervous tics went away, and their attitude improved as did their desire to go to church. Our family life improved. We were happier, so I foolishly put them back in Christian school this past year, because I didn’t want the hassle and I had a boy that was a great athlete. I watched my children lose their love for God quickly and their love for the world grow exponentially. Knowing what I know now, I would never let my children go to any school again, except for homeschool. Without exception, I recommend home schooling.... By the way, my homeschooled children scored very well on the ACT." Signed (Brother) "Hillbilly Homeschooler" 5/2012

However a family chooses to educate their child(ren), it should be the way God leads them, not because they are following a certain church/pastor or think that homeschoooling will somehow guarantee that their children will never stray from the LORD or guarantee they will always make all the right choices, etc. (There is no guarantee for that). If you've read this far, hang in there, I am getting to my point. Having been a homeschool mom since the early 90's, and let me say I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. It's been a terrific journey. Seeing my children graduate is bittersweet. Homeschooling gave us so much more than just academics. Which is something else each family has to decide—what goals do they have for their children's lives. Our goad has remained the same. It was/is to raise children who love God and desire to serve Him in whatever capacity He leads. It’s also to be able to balance a checkbook, use common sense, to be upright and honorable adults with a testimony that brings glory to God. Some homeschool families isolate their children in hopes that said isolation will keep them from living a life of sin and wickedness. Others choose to gradually expose them to the things that might tempt them, to aid them in resisting temptation when it comes. Regardless, the bottom line is that each individual reaches a time and place where they are forced to decide for themselves the path they want to walk. Regardless of how a person is schooled, there are always going to be things that they have to make decisions about. Lastly, I've spoken to hundreds of women about how their children should be schooled. Besides being certain that you are being obedient to the LORD’s leading, mom and dad need to be in agreement about it, as well.
