Boaz Baptist Church Chronicles

Bible Believing, KJV, Independent Baptist, Soulwinning, Premillenial, Family and Homeschool Friendly Church

Welcome!

Dear Friend, our heart's prayer and desire is that you trust Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour.  Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."  (John 14:6)  Only Jesus can save your soul.  And, only Jesus can give you peace.

We invite you to read the Gospel tracts, or view one of the short films below.  As you do, ask The Lord to help you "...believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."  (John 20:31b)

A Lesson In Forgiveness

If I asked you, Are you saved, or are you certain you would go to Heaven, how would you reply?

     "I don't know."

"I think so."
     "I hope I am."
     "I'm working at it."

If your answer was like any of those listed above, then I must tell you dear friend, that you do not understand forgiveness.

Forgiveness means that a person who is guilty of a crime gets pardoned.  Just that simple. In the same way, when a SINNER who is guilty of SIN gets pardoned, he is forgiven.  Just that simple.

You might ask me how I know I'm saved and going to Heaven when I die.  That's a simple question for me.  My answer to you would be, "I've been forgiven!"

I'm NOT working to get forgiveness, I possess it now.

I'm NOT hoping to get forgiveness, I settled it years ago with The LORD.

I don't THINK I'm saved, I KNOW
I'm saved because of God's Precious Promises in the Bible.
If you read them with me, you too may find the forgiveness your soul has been longing for.
King David said, "there is forgiveness with thee,"
Ps. 130:4
St. Paul said, "In whom we have redemption thru his blood, the
forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace."  Eph. 1:7, also Col 1:14
     St. John said, "
He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins...." John 1:9
Forgiveness is NOT found in religion, baptism, or "the mass."  Forgiveness is NOT found in a priest, preacher or a church.  Forgiveness IS found
in a person, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.  Forgiveness is available to you now because God chose to forgive you through the death of His Son on Calvary's cross.
In order to receive forgiveness you must first believe you are guilty of sin.
"We have...proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;...there is none that doeth good, no, not one...all the world [is] guilty before God...For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God...."
Romans 3:9, 12, 19, 23
Now if you don't believe you are a sinner,
why are you searching for forgiveness? No doubt you've read this far because you are truly concerned about the salvation of your soul.
Second, you must believe that you deserve the penalty of your sin,
eternal death in Hell, because you've sinned against an
Eternal God!
"...Sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." James 1:15

     "...
The soul that sinneth, it shall die.
" Ezekiel 18:4
     Unbelievers "...shall be punished with
everlasting destruction...."  II Thes. 1:9

Dear Friend,  you deserve punishment, BUT a MERCIFUL and COMPASSIONATE God intervened and willingly laid your sins and guilt on His Son, Jesus Christ.  That's what Salvation is...
forgiveness!

God "hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us...."  II Cor. 5:21
     "He was wounded for
our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities...." Isa. 53:5
Last, you must ask God to forgive you for Jesus sake.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Rom 10:13
     Dear Friend, forgiveness is
not automatic.  You cannot "try to be forgiven."  You must ask God for it.  He wants you to call on His Name for Salvation.
"For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; plenteous in mercy unto all then that call upon thee."
Psalm 86:5
Simply bow your head, and call upon the Name of The Lord, asking Him to forgive you and save your lost soul.

Like millions before you, you too will have complete forgiveness of ALL you sins.
     "I write unto you...because
your sins are forgiven you
, for his name's sake."
I John 2:12
      Once you've received forgiveness,
YOU ARE FORGIVEN.
Just that simple!

What Shape Are You In?

I’ve often heard it said, “You can’t put a square peg in a round hole (of equal size).”  It just won’t fit!  In similar fashion, NOT everyone who claims to, will go to God’s Heaven.  Why?  They just won’t fit in!

The only way a square peg can fit inside a round hole is for something to happen to the peg.  You can’t change the hole, any more than you can change God, who said, “I am the Lord, I change not.”  (Malachi 3:6)  God will never change, because His way is perfect.  Sadly, ours is not.  That’s why we must be changed to live with Him in Heaven.  Most people however are not interested in being changed.  They are square, and happy in that condition.  If you’re that way, please read no further.  Not even God could change your mind on this subject.

Since, in your condition - a misfit - you’d be extremely unhappy in Heaven, God will oblige you of your desire to stay unchanged.  Your wish will be granted.  He will let you go where Jesus said all “Squares” wind up: In “everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”  Just think, in Hell, you’ll fit right in.

For those of you who are NOT happy with your spiritual “shape” or condition, I’ve got good news…

God has a way to change your shape - a way that will let you easily enter Heaven.  It’s called the New Birth.  Jesus said, “Except a man be born again...he cannot enter into the kingdom of God….  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye MUST be born again.” (John 3:1-7)

Man’s original condition - “in the image of God” - was lost, the day Adam and Eve sinned against their Creator.  Every man since has been “dead in trespasses and sins.”  Saint Paul put it like this  “Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”  Now some good news…    “For as by one man’s [Adam’s] disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one [Jesus Christ] shall many be made righteous.”  (Rom. 5:12 and 19)

How does God change our nature?  The Bible teaches that God, in the form of Jesus, took on Him the nature of man, in order to die as a substitute for our sins.  His sacrificial death, burial, and glorious resurrection gives all who believe on Him a spiritual birth and a new nature.  All who are Born Again are “new creatures”  (II Corinthians 5:17) unto God, prepared for Heaven, and partakers of Eternal Life.  (Titus 2:13; John 10:27; I John 5:11-13)

Friend, God proved His love for you, when He sent Jesus to pay for your sins on Calvary’s cross.  Why not ask Him to save you right now?  Tell Him you are sorry for your sins, repent (turn from sin), and ask Him to forgive you.  “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  (Rom. 10:13)  Pray this prayer with all your heart…

Dear Jesus, I'm sorry for all my sins.  Please forgive me and come into my heart to save my soul.  I now receive you as my Saviour and Lord.  Thank You for giving me Eternal Life.  Amen.

OMG

 Oh My God

Jesus said it first!...

“I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.”  Psalms 40:8, Hebrews 10:9

Society’s estrangement from God has made it very fashionable these days to break His commandments.  Whether anyone knows it or not, using the phrase “Oh my God”, other than the way Jesus used it, actually breaks the third commandment…

“Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.”  Exodus 20:7

Jesus used the expression, “O my God” from the delight He received in obeying His Father’s will.  I seriously doubt that anyone using those words today are using them like He did.  Let’s observe…

Wounded and bleeding - blood flowing from His side - dying for sinners - His love He did not hide.  My God, my God,” He cried from the tree - crucified! - alone - smitten for me.

Delighted in His Father’s will, Jesus - obedient unto death - bore His judgment against sin - our sin.

Friend, we’ve all broken God’s law in some way.  That’s why we all need to be saved.  Taking God’s name in vain only proves, we have an evil heart, and are guilty of transgressing His LAW.  “For sin (any sin) is the transgression of the law.”  In God’s eyes, breaking even one commandment is equal to breaking them all.  “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”  Sin must be paid for.  That’s why Jesus came.  He died and rose again to offer Eternal Life to all who receive Him by faith.

“But as many as received him (Jesus), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.“ John 1:12

Lost Sinner, it’s your turn to obey God.  Bow your head, and admit to Him, you are a guilty sinner in need of Salvation.  Be sorry for your sins.  Repent (turn from sin), and invite Jesus into your heart as your personal Saviour.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.”  Acts 16:31

Soap

“No matter how poor you are, you can always afford…SOAP and WATER

These words were first spoken to me, about forty years ago, by my “Nanny”, and they have stuck with me ever since. (Nanny was an elderly Austrian lady who helped my mom to raise me from age 7 to 14.)

Years Later, while pastoring a small church in New York City, I remember taking my (then) 4 young children (ages 1-5) to the playground.  It was a hot summer day, so they were glad that the sprinklers were on.  After only a few minutes of watching them play in that cool, refreshing, fountain of water, we noticed a homeless man (a city “Bum”), holding an old tattered paper bag, making his way toward that little fountain.  Unsure of what would happen next, we called our children from the water, watching, in amazement, as this man reached inside his bag and pulled out a bar of soap.  Without regard for anyone else, he began washing, first, his face and hands, then, his upper body, and finally, his filthy clothes.  (To be honest about it, after smelling his stench, I’m kind of glad he did!)

“How disgusting!” you say.  You may be right, but one thing can be said. No matter what anyone’s opinion is/was about what he did, He got clean the best way he knew how!

Something or Someone told that man he needed to get clean outwardly.  God, put something inside you and I that tells us we need to get clean inwardly.  The Bible refers to this as a conscience.  (Romans 2:15)  Our conscience shows us our true inward condition.  Like a “mirror of the heart”, it helps us to detect dirt, or SIN.  If you take an honest look at yourself, dear friend, you too will have to admit, your “inward parts” (Psalms 51:5-6) are “dirty.”

Since it is easier to detect dirt on the outside, than sin on the inside, God, Who desires His Creation to be clean, gave us a second mirror to see our sin for what it really is.  That mirror is the mirror of His word. (James 1:22-25)  When we look inside the pages of The Holy Bible, it tells us the unmistakable TRUTH about our condition.

The prophet Isaiah said, “We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…our iniquities…have taken us away.”  (Isaiah 64:6)

When a holy God looks at a man’s heart, He sees filthy rags; iniquities; sins.

Jeremiah said, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”  (Jeremiah 17:9)

Let’s read what Jesus said man’s true condition is…

“For from WITHIN, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, coveteousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from WITHIN, and defile the man.”  (Mark 7:21-23)

Even religious people are unclean…

“Then spake Jesus…’Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees [religious people of His day], hypocrites!  For ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful OUTWARDLY, but are WITHIN full of dead men’s bones, and all uncleanness.  Even so ye OUTWARDLY appear righteous unto men, but WITHIN ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.’”  (Matthew 23:1, 27-28)

These religious people were clean outside, but (they) didn’t get the job done inside - where their sin was!

You may be asking yourself, “If religious people aren’t saved, ‘who then can be saved?’”  (Luke 18:26)  Here’s the answer...  ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN WASHED INWARDLY!  The homeless man was not clean until the soap and water was applied to his body.  A sinner is not clean until the blood of the Lamb is applied to his soul.

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him [Jesus] the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6)  Jesus willingly went to Calvary, to cleanse us, and wash us from our sins in his own blood.  (Revelation 1:5)  “For he [God] hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”  (II Cor. 5:21)

Oh Sinner Friend, why not let this be the day you get clean.  The Psalmist said, “Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.  Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.”  (Psalms 51)  Saint Paul said, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”  (Titus 3:5)

“Wilt thou not be made clean?”  (Jeremiah 13:27)  Our only hope is the blood of Christ.

“…The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”  (I John 1:7)

Friend, Jesus is waiting to cleanse you and save your soul.  Why not let Him, now?  “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  (Romans 10:13)

Pray this simple prayer with all your heart:

“Dear Jesus, I admit that I am an unclean sinner on my way to Hell.  Please, forgive me, and save my soul.  By faith, I now receive You as my Saviour; fully trusting Your cleansing blood to wash my sins away.  Thank You, Lord Jesus, for giving me Eternal Life.  Amen.

Are They All Yours?

When people see what a big family I have, I'm often asked, "Are they all YOUR children?" I'm always glad to answer with a resounding "YES!"
Unlike those of generations past, people today are often shocked when they see a large family. We get a variety of responses: "Why would anyone want so many children?" "I can't handle the two I have!" "How can you afford them?"
If you haven't already guessed, my family and I are Born Again Christians. We believe the Bible, and
have taken to heart God's command, "to be fruitful and multiply." (Gen. 1:28, 9:1,7)
Even though our society in general looks at children as burdens, God actually calls them a "reward" that can bring lasting happiness.

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them." Ps. 127, 3,5

If brought up in the ways of the Lord, children can be a great blessing to their parents.

"A wise son maketh a glad father." Prov. 10:1
"The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice, and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice." Prov. 23:24,25

If not, God says children can actually become a curse to their parents and to a nation.
"There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother." Prov. 30:11
"...A foolish son is the heaviness of his mother." Prov. 10:1
"...He that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father." Prov. 28:7
"A child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame." Prov. 29:15

But there is hope for children.
You see, there is another family that is multiplying that God talks about in His Word, the family of God. God not only desires physical but spiritual children as well. When someone becomes Born Again, or Born of the Spirit, (as Jesus taught in John chapter 3), they become children of God.

"But as many as received him, (Jesus Christ), to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." John 1:12

Only those who have believed the Gospel and received the Lord Jesus Christ as their own personal Saviour will be His children throughout eternity. Jesus said, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3

The first step to have a blessed family is to become part of God's family.
Please allow me to tell you how you can join God's family and know for sure that you are a child of God.

The Word of God tells us.....
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Rom 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death." Rom 6:23
"As it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." Heb. 9:27
"But the...unbelieving....and all liars , shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Rev. 21:8
"...Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Luke 13:3, 5

The good news of the Gospel is that....

"...Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures...he was buried, and...rose again the third day..." I Cor. 15:3,4
"...While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Rom 5:8

Jesus said all it takes is childlike faith to be saved.
"...Except ye be converted, and become as little children ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Matt. 18:3

You can become God's child today! Pray this "Sinners Prayer" with all your heart and invite Jesus to save you right now.

Dear Jesus, I am sorry for all my sins. I ask you to make me YOUR child. Please forgive me and save me from Hell. By faith I now receive you as my personal Saviour. I am only trusting the blood you shed for me on Calvary's cross as payment for all my sins. Thank you LORD JESUS for saving me, and giving me a home in Heaven. Amen.

If you have trusted Christ as your Saviour, you too can now claim the promises that God has given to His children. Here are just a few:

"For ye are all the children of God
by faith in Christ Jesus." Gal. 3:26
"I write unto you
little children
because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake." I John 2:12
"...Jesus...said, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." Luke 18:16
