Stand By Me

Posted on 16 October, 2021 at 13:40

This is a good old song—an oldie by Ben E. King.

I got to thinking about my son who is visiting from New York.

I want him to stand by me. Or, I want to stand by him. We won't, here, talk about my wife who wants to be close to her babies. She thinks that I don't get it. I always want to be around my babies... at least for a little while. {Smiley face.} Let's face it, they are all “growed up” by now and have their own lives to live.

This short post is a spiritual one. It's about Jesus.

I'm listening to this song on my radio, and all of a sudden a thought came in my mind. Jesus. I'm gonna hang out with Jesus for eternity. WOW! More than that, I wonder if He is gonna stand by me or will I desire to stand by Him. I know that it's just an earthly emotion... ...hangin' out with someone... ...I get it. But, the feeling is wonderful. Another thought surfaced. With all the people that are saved, will I even get near Jesus. I guess that's why He put His Spirit in us. I guess in eternity, He will make His presence very real to us THROUGH His Spirit—the Comforter. I guess that's why He (the Comforter) was given to us today.

Things Have a Habit of...

Posted on 24 April, 2021 at 17:05

A former manager of this property, Lawrence, was looking in the grassy dirt sometime back for a underground pipe that was broken. To make a long story short, he dug a great ditch, inches from my rear window, to find it. Well, the pipe he was looking for wound up to be in the front of the property, not the back, where he was digging. Haphazardly covering the dirt, once he was done with his expedition, he assured me that he used to work digging graves in a cemetery, and stated to me that in no time the upheaveled mess of dirt he left behind would be as smooth as the surrounding land beside it. Even though I was skeptical, you know what? He was right! In a few weeks, added with some rainy weather, it was!

I learned something that day:
Things have a habit of working themselves out.

[For all those hyper-spiritual people reading this short story, I am speaking about things in this life.]

A few days ago, some men came by to fix a light in back of the property. They drove a caterpillar that left huge track marks in the grassy dirt.

After beginning to fret a little over these huge gouges left behind, I remembered, years later, the unwitting wisdom Lawrence had imparted to me that day from his experience working in the graveyard.

Ecclesiastes 11:1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

I do not go and preach the Gospel to see results, friend. Jesus said to preach the Gospel, and Paul said, 1 Corinthians 3:6...  I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. Results and increase is God's area, not mine!

I go preach the Gospel; the Gospel, not church, denomination, baptism, I preach the Gospel because...

#1 Jesus said to.

#2 People are going to die.

#3 I was 18 years old before I heard the Gospel.

Then at the end of the day, while I pray for, during and after preaching and Gospel tracts, I think and wonder what work God is doing, not me or anyone else, what God and the Holy Spirit are doing when man is away.

My LOUD preaching, everyone tells me so, works on the ears of the hearts and souls. The Gospel tracts work on the eyes and souls of the hearts.

Man is to preach, plant, and water, never save. Let God do the saving, we just work the fields. Many boast of salvation and not doing any work, or doing work without the Gospel, seeds and water.

When I see people taking a Gospel tract and are reading it or it goes into a purse, pocket, bag, it is not rejected nor is it thrown out. (Actually at the farmer's market there are few thrown out for there is one garbage can.)

When three teenage girls draw a chalk  devil with a pitchfork and a smiling face sticking its tongue at me, I know they are getting the message.

I don't save them, I preach the Gospel in their ears and it gets into their heart.  Rachel-Ann gets the Gospel, through Gospel tracts, into their eyes and hearts; eyes, ears and heart - soul street ministry - the Hayward Family Ministry.

Pray for them, pray for us...

...Into the fields, we go

Father, forgive me of my sins, through the Blood of Jesus, that I and my sins hamper not the fields.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Friends

Posted on 30 January, 2021 at 15:05

I got accused a while back of wanting all my Facebook friends to be my PERSONAL friends. Poppycock. Nothing could be further from the truth.

When I go to my local store, I look for people who I might of said "Hi" to in the past, because I KNOW their faces. I want to give them more information about me so we can talk, especially if they are unsaved. I want them to hear the Gospel or more of the Gospel. I want folks to get saved and learn to love God more. Isn't that what you want...?!!! I know that my local shoemaker isn't my REAL friend, but when I go in six months later, I remember that I look and sound like Laura's (Jim's wife) "uncle Carl." (She professes to be saved.)

The greatest thing that you can do as a believer is to get in the mix. Love people. Give them the TRUTH. Believe me, they will learn who you are. Either they will like you or do their best to avoid you. None of that matters. What matters is Jesus Christ. He matters and wants you to take a few folks with you to Heaven when you go. Will you do it? Will you give them the Gospel and make friends with someone for the RIGHT reasons...?

Fraud

Posted on 1 January, 2021 at 14:40

You talk about cheating and lying, and trying to pass off false results onto others...

...What do you think I have been doing most of my life in defense of this battle...?

See, Brother John, I've been doing this since I was eighteen.

[Oh... someone THOUGHT I was referring to the present day election results. Silly YOU!! ☺️ No no. Read on....]

Someone has tried to pass off their false (Did I just use the word "false...?") FALSE!!! findings/results onto the general populous, hoping that no one was looking. This has been a big sell job, hoping to con the simple.

Well, hundreds of books and versions later, this is still going on. The only difference is that there are many loyalists who have taken the time to study out and come to the right conclusion that what is being attempted to be passed off as the true word of God has it's origins elsewhere, not God.

The only way to figure all this out is to take the time it demands to come to the proper conclusions.

I'm Going Back to Bed

Posted on 15 November, 2020 at 16:10

"This is what again...?"

"What is 'what' again...?"

"Oh, I see."

"Let me do it for you again."

"This BOOK is what again...?"

"(That's the word that I needed: 'BOOK.' Thank you.)"

"(You are welcome.)"

"This book is what again...?"

"A Christian book...?"

"NOPE. It's...

...A JEWISH BOOK. ...Just like our Saviour... ...JEWISH."

"Okay, thanks. I'm going back to bed."

"No. Wait a second!"

"So... if the book is Jewish and the New Testament part is only for Christians in the church age, does that mean that after the church goes to get married in the future (hopefully SOON) to her Saviour that it takes over again where the OLD Testament left off...?"

"Oh. Now I get it. It is AFTER Christ's resurrection and before He sits in JERUSALEM to reign on this Earth as a JEWISH king. So the future picks up where the Old Testament leaves off. I wonder if that's why the King James translators put the books after Paul's writings together—grouped together—the way they did and labeled them 'General—as in General Epistles...?'"

"Oh. I'm starting to catch on. Thanks for not going back to bed."

"Just one more thing...

Is that why the book sounds so Jewish, like bringing Moses and Elijah back in the book of Revelation and the hundred and forty-four thousand out of the twelve TRIBES...?"

"Yep. You are starting to catch on....
"

The word word

Posted on 13 October, 2020 at 20:00

The word "word..." ...or... ...is it "Word...?"

People that don't use the upper and lower case spelling for the first letter in the word "word" like the King James Bible does—saying that they are just "giving honor to the written word by making it a capital" are just making a mockery of what the Holy Spirit easily worked out for us in scripture, making for the reader an easy distinction between what God wrote and Who became flesh.

See below for some examples...

Jesus

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. Revelation 19:13

Spoken or Written word of God

...the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. Luke 3:2

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luke 4:4

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, Luke 5:1

Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. Luke 8:12 and 13

And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. Luke 8:21

For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. II Corinthians 2:17

But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. II Corinthians 4:2

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. I Thessalonians 2:13

For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. I Timothy 4:5

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. I Timothy 5:17

Which For You?

Posted on 31 August, 2020 at 20:15

I think that I said it before. America is a sinking ship. Go ahead and try to save the ship. You won't. But you can rescue a few people from off of it.

I know. They want to kill us. There will be no churches left because they'll close the doors. They'll shoot stuff inside your arm that will trace you (a kind lady sent me a great video off-line earlier, because American Patriots are “waking up.” [Notice those are quotes in the end of my last sentence.])

They can take your liberties away. They will make this a Marxist nation. You won't be able to get/print/give out Gospel tracts anymore.

One thing someone can't do, though, is—if you are saved... take you out of the body of Christ. And, let's add this... force you to miss the Rapture.

One of two things...

Either you will fight to save the ship or you will fight for the souls of men. Time is short. Which for you...?

The Body Without the Spirit

Posted on 15 August, 2020 at 23:45

A Brother who I greatly respect, recently asked me about James 2:26 concerning my belief when man becomes a living soul. Here is the verse...

"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."

He reasons, how can there be a LIVING body in a womb if there is no spirit in it. And, if there is a spirit in that LIVE body, there must also be a LIVING soul.

I believe at BIRTH, the combination of a body and spirit PRODUCE a soul.  (If you are interested in this technical issue, click the following link... (https://www.boazbaptist.com/whendoeslifebegin.htm)

I have a few simple answers to this question...

First, this brother told me that when he feels the baby jump in an expectant loved one's belly, he KNOWS that the baby inside is alive and has a spirit in it.  He says that it's "a living soul."

If you read my article on it (https://www.boazbaptist.com/apps/blog/show/6637114-my-babies-), I've experienced some prenatal kicks of my own.  Except for the fact that there was a conception and the baby in the womb was waiting to be born, what this brother said to me didn't prove anything, either way.

I refer to this pregnancy (conception to birth) as “living FLESH.”  This pre-born child is growing towards birth. So, in a sense, this flesh is living, and in a sense it is not.  Remember, it is TOTALLY dependent on the mother. (She feeds it, removes it's waste, carries it, etc...) It is definitely getting everything it needs to grow so that one day it might be born and become independent of her.

This to me is similar to a lost man that
FEELS like he is alive spiritually, when the TRUTH is he is a dead man walking around in a living flesh and blood body with a dead spirit.

This baby-in-the-womb is alive because of it's mother and can only survive outside the womb by artificial stimuli that will help it grow 'til it's OLD ENOUGH to breath on it's own for the first time ever where it receives a spirit and becomes a living soul.

Now, I can answer the question...

If “the body without the spirit is dead” why is this body moving so much in the womb...? Isn't it alive...?  It seems that way, doesn't it?  Now to my second answer. This should be much shorter.

James 2:26 is referring to someone who was conceived, grew in the womb and was already born.  It is taken for granted that the body that James is referring to has already been born. There is not one word here about being in the womb.

"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."

Pastor Bob

Addendum:

This brother wrote back and said...

"James 2:26 is referring to someone who was conceived, grew in the womb and was already born. It is taken for granted that the body that James is referring to has already been born. There is not one word here about being in the womb." "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." But the verse did NOT SAY AFTER BIRTH.. you have assumed that. There is a living body in the womb it is NOT dead. The baby is actually alive. The idea that all babies are like ADAM is ridiculous. The breath of life is IN that baby because the life of the flesh is in the blood; that is Oxygen. The oxygen is the carrier of all nutrients to every cell in the body and it also carries out all the wast from every cell. Adam's body was NOT doing that until he breathed the breath of life because Adam was NOT procreated; but expressly created. His body was NOT alive before that. Sorry you have a very weak idea about life. The body, soul and spirit of everyone accept Adam and Eve (two exceptions) were procreated. James gives that express clue about that fact.

It is that passage that you have NOT answered but have jumped around making it say something that it does not say to retain your ideology.

Now if there is only a body in the womb, then the Lord Jesus Christ while in Mary was NOT God manifest in the flesh, and was NOT the Word made flesh... There would have been no incarnation of the Word if there is no SOUL in that body at conception... This leads me to think that this would mean there is no actual divinity in Christ at conception according to your ideology...

My answer...

That was the whole idea of the incarnation. God became man. God came into a woman's body as a seed. (Luke one and two) That "thing" (Luke 1:35) grew in her womb until it was born one day as a man—the God/man having God's blood (Acts 20:28) flowing though it's veins.

God was manifested in the flesh. Romans 8:3 declares “...God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh....” Jesus' flesh was LIKE our flesh, but somehow it was different. Obviously, one of the differences was the fact that—given the hyperstatic union—He was God and therefore without sin.

He (like John the Baptist who was filled with the Holy Ghost from—not in, FROM—his mother's womb) was an exception.

Time and Sandpaper

Posted on 17 July, 2020 at 2:55

Recently, I muted someone on Facebook for two weeks for saying something to me that was disrespectful. It reminded me of two weeks punishment that I endured forty-six years ago, when serving at a small lifeboat station in Ponce de Leon inlet, Florida, in nineteen seventy-three.

Well, I had gotten saved at Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville while stationed at the Navel Air Station, on October 8th, 1972. You couldn't tell me any differently... I thought that the church was almost Heaven. I was saved and all these people, like me, loved God. Going to church was like going to Heaven, each week. Sunday School, the morning worship service, evening study and church, Wednesday service and Thursday visitation. And, there was more, much much more.

To begin my story, "the Guard" thought to send me to Ponce de Leon Inlet after I was saved only a short time. Anyway, even though Trinity was a hundred and twenty miles away (one way), I would trade weekend duty to get there as often as I could. One time, I remember trading two duties for one Sunday, just to go to church. I remember sleeping on the Navy base in the barracks with Chuck Hamilton and Lonnie Dickinson, just so I could go with them to church the next morning. I switched duties with someone that week, and I did two weekdays. All he had to do was my Sunday. Well, this man was a no show. I never learned why, but he didn't do my duty.

I came back to Ponce station in the wee hours of Monday morning just in time to get up for the work day. This time, after breakfast was over, I was summoned into the "CO's office." Warrant Officer Burnett interrogated me and wanted to know why I wasn't on duty that Sunday, like I was supposed to be. Let's face it, the duty sheet had my name on it, but I wasn't there. Well, I told the CO what happened, and that I had traded two duties for my Sunday. But, he didn't believe me. He gave me two weeks of restricted duty. (I wasn't allowed to leave the base for two weeks.) He also had a first class Master at arms (I forget his name) teach me how to clean a toilet—the CO's toilet. After many hours and tries, I finally got it right. Sandpaper does a good job. :)

Well, that's my story. I was reminded of all this, because I muted someone for two weeks. I wonder if, while he is muted, he is learning how to clean a toilet, like I did so very long ago...? I'll never forget. Time and sandpaper.

I'll Just Say I Did

Posted on 29 April, 2020 at 14:00

 .

People THINK that just because you preach against or are hard against sin that somehow you think that you personally don't sin.

Foolishness.

That is not true. We all sin. And, we all, at our BEST STATE, are vain and wicked.

To be CLEAN before a holy God, a Christian is supposed to repent daily. Here is a good definition of the word repent: To feel such regret for past conduct as to change one's mind regarding it. A believer is to get cleansed from their sins daily.

Now...

...If a Brother or Sister says that they have repented from their sins...

1. You are to believe them.

2. That is between them and the Lord.

3. Repentance means that they have changed their mind about THAT sin, and plan never to return.

Like a dog returning to it's vomit, though, if someone does repent and returns, it's better, in my opinion, to leave that Brother or Sister alone and let them work it out with God. It has nothing to do with you. It has to do with them and God. But, if you observe these sinful things going on in someone's life, you become a witness. [Leviticus 5:1; Deuteronomy 19:15; Matthew 18:15-17 and like scriptures] And because you are (a witness), in my opinion, it's better to stay far away from that person. Just because someone SAYS that they have "repented" doesn't ALWAYS MAKE IT SO. Maybe they just said what they did (repent) to get you or other Christians who are frowning on their continued PUBLIC sins and conduct off their backs. Don't forget, by exposing their sins, you are now their accusers and enemies.

God wants, yea beseeches, the believer to live clean and holy lives. (Romans 12:1) That can only be done when we are yielded to God and His word. Now ye are CLEAN THROUGH THE WORD that I have spoken unto you. John fifteen. Christ is our Advocate to the father not only for salvation but for sanctification, also. Salvation is not given to us as a license to sin. But IF YOU DO SIN confess it to God. Repent. Get it right and move on. Move on and move FORWARD. Move forward spiritually. Someone said to me recently, don't abuse eternal security by using it to live for the Devil. Don't forget, he is a "liar" and the FATHER of it. (John 8:44) His lie to the believer is, “Since I am saved, I can do what I want.” Read that last sentence again. I said that that type of thinking is a “LIE OF THE DEVIL.” Don't forget that Jesus made it clear that some folks honor him with their LIPS but their heart is far from him. (Mark 7:6)

By the way, there is a difference between a Christian and a Christian that is God called to preacher or pastor. The truth is, some folks are just not good public examples. (That is not the nature of this short article, but read First Timothy three to get an idea what a Christian leader should look like.)

Last...

God wants those he has saved...

CLEAN. He wants them HOLY. He wants them YIELDED. He wants them WEANED. And, he wants them LISTENING with a listening ear.

If you are a believer, please, reread this article again. When you do and the Lord Jesus convicts your heart of sin, confess it, repent and ask him to help you live a life of love and service for him. Don't forget, the Judgment Seat of Christ is right around the corner. Be ready.

Covid Nineteen

Posted on 29 April, 2020 at 0:55

A lot of you are not going to like me for what I am about to say...

You know, when I was still a Pastor in New York City of a small church in Astoria, we would have co-operated with the edicts of the politicians.

THEY believe it is a real pandemic. (Obviously I have MY opinion.) Wouldn't I attempt to co-operate with their fears...? This is my call to action—all the while, with people dying all around this situation, giving them the GOSPEL. (Remember that? For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. This is what they need TODAY, not some conspiracy theory.)

All I want to say, in simple terms...

1. Take this time to ask the Lord to give you ways and different ways to dispense the gospel to the lost. Many of you are very cleaver people. Take this time for the Gospel's sake. Men and women are STILL going to Hell. YOU should try to reach them.

2. If and when the "stimulus money" comes in, ask your congregants to give FROM that money.

3. Do what someone is ASKING you to do.

4. If someone says...

Take this vaccine. And if it winds up to have elements in it that will track you in the future, in my best shot, after listening to the brethren and futuristic prognosticators about the "Mark," (I did say that you won't like me, didn't I...?) take it. In fact if you won't take yours, bring it to me. I'll take it in my OTHER arm. [They'll probably cancel each other out. ☺️]

WHY...?

YOU CANNNNNNOT GO TO HELL.

HEY, hey...

...If you are a born again believer IN THE CHURCH age, you have NOTHING to fear, right? You are sealed (—did I just say "sealed...?") with the Holy Spirit of promise, heirs and joint heirs with Christ, seated TODAY in Heavenly places.

If you don't like being this close to the rapture and Tribulation, take it up with the Lord at the Judgment Seat of Christ, but that's where He put you the day you were born.

See you on the Other Side.

Calling All Students of Prophecy

Posted on 28 April, 2020 at 17:55

Having "a FRONT ROW SEAT of prophecy" is different than what I see at my end.... I see a LOT of believers who are looking to dodge the inevitable: FUTURE PROPHECY,

They are somehow looking to dodge the Antichrist by NOT taking the mark or anything that resembles it (and, we will not talk about vaccines here) ...like they can somehow AVOID the future ...LIKE THEY ARE IN THE TIME OF JACOB'S TROUBLE. These are Church age believers who will reject all the precursor movements of the Devil, like their salvation DEPENDS on it.

We are in the end of the church age. SURE. But, may I remind you, we are STILL in the church age.

I'm Transgender

Posted on 13 October, 2019 at 13:40

I'm coming out to tell everyone that I am transgender...

...Well actually, my gender has STAYED the same. I was born a male and will continue to do so. What changed, though, is my body—thus the word "transgender."

My gender is changing from within.  I went from a boy's gender and changed into a man's. Now, I'm changing from a younger man into an OLD man. I like being a male (as if I could change it). But, oh... how I wish I could go back into my closet and change BACK to a younger version.

If you think about it for long, it WILL go back, one day...

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Keep on Preaching Against Facebook

Posted on 26 September, 2019 at 0:35

Yeah...

...Keep on preaching against Facebook...

Hey, Fool...

....There are STILL people that come on here that don't live near your church.

...There are STILL people that come on here that can't get to your church.

...And, by the way, YOU SPOILED THEM WITH GREAT TRUTHS THAT THEY CAN'T GET ELSEWHERE, unless they compromise doctrine. So, where are they going to go, if they don't live by you?

...There are STILL people that basically have YOUR convictions, but have come to realize that, at least for TODAY, this is where God wants them and has called them to serve.

...Yes, we have heard all that you have to say on the matter. If someone goes on Facebook to gain a modicum of spirituality, they should be shunned.  We get it.

...You clearly point out that the internet will help bring in the Antichrist.   So, what of it...?  ...Won't all your electronics do the same thing...?  You love God, Fool... SO DO WE!

If you are so against the internet, why are you selling books (doing commerce) on it...?  With your convictions, I would immediately stop using it.  Oh, I guess it will hurt your sales—your book sales........

Blue Shorts and Bloody Knees

Posted on 12 June, 2019 at 21:15

Yea, those are my blue shorts and my bloody knees...

The way I see it, I gave up a little skin to witness to a young man--a young black man. (I wish I had a picture of us.)

Here is what happened...

A few weeks back, I saw this man who I said "Hi" to before and thought I could witness to him today, especially since he was all alone in his hallway. We started talking and wouldn't you know it, his friend came over, which changed the whole scenario. I thought to myself, "I'm sure I'll get ANOTHER chance," and that chance happened today.

Well... I was on my exercise walk home, and, wouldn't you know it, the Lord sent an angel by to trip me. Besides my two scrapped knees in the picture, I had another one under the side of my elbow and I strained a stomach muscle under my breast. (That hurt the most, and, hours later, seems to be slowly subsiding).

Well, who passes by...? THIS young man on his bicycle. He said, after he began to help me home, that he saw me "on the other side" (of the road), when he was going to the store, and thought he might see me on his return trip, after the angel tripped me.   (The last five words were just in jest. :) )

Anyway, he told me that he is twenty-three, his mom has been in the hospital for the last few days, and THAT HE IS MOVING FRIDAY. (Today is Wednesday!! — SEE... The Lord knows what He is doing.)

The last thing I will say, as this young man helped me home for about three-quarters of a mile (me on one side and his bicycle on the other)... he listened to every tenant (my term) of the Gospel he was presented with.

At the end, I thanked him, hugged him, exchanged phone numbers and I gave him TWO of my online tracts.

After viewing my chicken tract (www.uchicken2.com), he wrote me back these words...

"I'm definitely chicken." ❤️

Revival or the Rapture?

Posted on 1 March, 2019 at 19:40

What do you long to see: Revival or the Rapture...?

Or, should I have said, "WHO do you long to see...?" ...That would have sealed your answer correctly.

More important than me (or anyone, for that matter) getting right with God is the fulfillment of God's prophecies, in God's timing, in God's way. We Bible-believers should be thinking that way.

You say, "Can't God wait 'til my momma gets saved." No, He "can't" and He won't. God's purposes are immutable. Therefore, God's timetable will be right on time. Moreover, NOTHING can or will stop it.

Why not settle this matter in your mind....? If you will, learn this lesson from "the word of truth" (2 Corinthians 6:7)...

Prophecy trumps preference, EVERY TIME!!!

"For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry." (Hebrews 10:37 -- Second Coming verse)

Presumptive Pastors

To ALL Bible-believing PASTORS...

STOP IT! ...Stop doing it...

We are all, already, determined to be "wicked;" no one needs their OWN pastor to make a false allegation against them—especially someone in their OWN congregation.

According to Scripture ("KJV" - for those who need that designation), PRESUMPTION [PRE-ASSUMPTION] IS A BLANTANT SIN!

“When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, [ie: the person really didn't sin] that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.” Deuteronomy 18:22

IF THAT PERSON DIDN'T REALLY DO THAT SIN, YOU LIED AND BORE FALSE WITNESS. AND, YOUR PRESUMPTION BECAME A SIN.

“But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.” II Peter 2:10

If you say to someone [by way of example], “You don't read the King James Bible, you listen to Christian Rock; ‘you're not saved.’” Isn’t that presumption? If you tell someone, “You're going to hell.” IF YOU ARE NOT 100% SURE THAT THAT PERSON IS UNSAVED, YOUR STATEMENT IS THE SIN OF PRESUMPTION (pre-assumption). IT IS A LIE. IT IS BEARING FALSE WITNESS, AND CLEARLY UNBIBLICAL, IN THAT IT BEARS FALSE WITNESS AGAINST THY NEIGHBOR. That’s what they did to Christ. (I’m not comparing the sinner to Christ, but the practical application still fits perfectly.)...

“For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.” Mark 14:56

WHY? BECAUSE THEIR WITNESSES WERE FALSE. THEY PRE-ASSUMED, OR PRESUMED.

As believers, we should be careful not to bear false witness against thy neighbor. Remember...

“A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.” Proverbs 25:18

“Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good.” II Timothy 3:3

“The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things….” Titus 2:3

NOT EVEN THE ANGELS BRING RAILING ACCUSATIONS AGAINST WICKED SINNERS, WHEN THEY KNOW THE ACCUSATIONS ARE TRUE!

“But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.” II Peter 2:10 and 11

NOT EVEN SINLESS ANGELS BRING RAILING ACCUSATIONS AGAINST THE WICKED DEVIL FOR WHAT THEY KNOW IS TRUE!

“Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” Jude 9

ZACCHAEUS REPENTED OF FALSE ACCUSATIONS…

“And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.” Luke 19:8

JOHN THE BAPTIST COMMANDED THE SOLDIERS NOT TO FALSELY ACCUSE…

“And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.” Luke 3:14

The best policy is…

UNLESS WE ARE 1000% CERTAIN THAT A SINNER HAS COMMITTED A SIN, OR THAT A MAN IS LOST, OR THAT A WOMAN IS A WHORE, ETC..., YOU ARE IN SIN TO ACCUSE THEM FALSELY. IF THEY ADMIT TO THEIR SIN, THEN, LET HER FLY!

Pray These Words

Posted on 15 December, 2018 at 11:55

There is another category that I always forget to mention, whenever this subject comes up...

What's the subject...? Praying with someone to ask Jesus to save them, when you're pretty sure they AREN'T getting saved.

The Lord let me speak to someone, tonight, who is not exactly a simpleton, but someone who seemed to be somewhat slow. This young man (twenty-one) was very willing to talk to me about spiritual things ...well, listen anyway—and respond to my questions.

The REASON that I pray with someone like this is to GIVE THEM THE WORDS of a SIMPLE prayer to remember, so that if anything I said to them during the course of my witness “clicks in” later on, in the near or distant future, when God brings my words up to them again, they'd be equipped with a few of those words and ideas that might make the difference between belief or unbelief.

Yes... In the short time I was afforded, I stressed sin.

Yes... In the short time that I was afforded, I stressed his/our sinning against the Creator.

Yes... In the short time that I was afforded, I stressed the Gospel—which isn't being a “good person” or “religious” but salvation (Jesus living a sinless life and dying in our place).

THIS IS ANOTHER REASON that I have added a prayer on the back of some of my tracts. Here is an example (volume up)...

Here is a better one, with a prayer at the end...

By the way...

Since, IN MY MIND, they don't understand what I've presented to them, I DON'T give them false hope; like telling them that they ARE saved. In fact, when I pray with/for someone, I tend to go the other way. I usually tell them, "MAKE sure, when you get home, before you put your head on your pillow, that you have asked Jesus, IN YOUR OWN WORDS, to forgive you, to save you, and take you to Heaven when you die...."

Dr. Bob

The question/statement was raised on a bother's thread...

"To call a preacher 'Doctor' because of his degree seems out of place to me."

Here is my experience with it...

My reasoning for wanting to be called “Doctor” Bob is different from anything else written on this thread, so far, so here goes...

My reason was, initially, for the gospel.

I lived in my home state of New York, where I felt like I had to prove myself to everybody.

The reason that I wanted some kind of title was the same reason (of sorts) that I wanted to be married with children.

I lived in Queens, with the Italians, Greeks, Jews and many other varieties of ethnicity and religions. My main desire was to see these people get SAVED. I thought to myself, “How would any of them get saved if I wasn't established as an authority in their eyes.”

I sure studied. I believed “that I knew what a Christian ought to know” (or, so I thought I did). I sure knew enough Bible to lead someone to Christ.... But, these people wouldn't talk to me because I didn't have the sanction that they were looking for, like a Roman Catholic priest would. It was very frustrating to say the least.

Fast forward: Well, I got married, had some babies and asked the pastor of the church (now in) Cincinnati, Ohio if he would “ordain” me. I was his assistant. This was my third time asking, since the time I lived in New York. Pastor Bill Burress answered by saying, “I can't ordain you, but I can make a doctor out of you.” I thought that he was joking, but (again, to make a long story short) he did. He used my bible knowledge and experience as a basis for doing so.

Well, there I was... with a piece of paper and a title.

If you look at anything that I have ever produced and attached that title to, I have always proceeded the word “Dr.” with the word “Hon” (short for) “Honorary,” except for ONE tract that I had written, for the reasons I stated above.

My goal has NEVER been to impress the BRETHREN!!! It has ALWAYS been to legitimatize the ministry to some UNSAVED person, enough so, that maybe, JUST MAYBE, they will take a second look at what I wrote or had to say, in order to get their soul saved for eternity.

Hon. Dr. Bob Leib

By the way, being called “Pastor” by the brethren, in my church, was so much more important to me than ever being called “Doctor.”
