Mephibosheth became a "Hippy," when the King wasn't in his rightful place on the throne, where he belonged.
"And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace." (II Samuel 19:24)
This should teach us a good lesson about our King, Jesus the son of King David. (Romans 1:3) When our King is not properly enthroned in our heart it should grieve us like it did Mephibosheth.
