"Do Nothing Christians" during the Millennium
Posted on 4 April, 2014 at 21:10 |
A Brother Asks…
"Hi brother. Hope all is well with you and your family. Got a question that is touchy so I will ask you on here. What do you think will happen to 'Do Nothing' Christians during the Millennium? I have heard Doc speak of them being denied but not speculate on what they will be doing. Been reading some Watchman Nee and he speaks of them not getting a reign without service but not what they will be doing or where they will be. Just wondered what you thought. It is touchy but none the less it is real. I believe if more were warned of what they stand to lose maybe it would wake some of them up. Anyway, God Bless you and your family Brother."
My answer...
This is such an important doctrine to us and those of us that have our Bible even minutely straight, Brother--because we realize that it strikes at the very heart of our future or at least a thousand years of it--that many have invented doctrines and variations of these doctrines in order to answer clueless Christians who are concerned about their future. To me, much of it is speculation. Let’s face it, scripture does say some things about that time and some things are not clearly stated …so we look for and invent possibilities.
One preacher I know and love, who is now in Heaven, taught that if you don’t have works after you are saved (I Corinthians 3), you will lose your eternal inheritance and be cast into “outer darkness for that one thousand year period.” Well, I believe that you will lose your inheritance, but you will still be with the saints of God ashamed at the Judgment Seat of Christ and will be here with the rest of the Bride of Christ where ever they are because they (we) are bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh. (Ephesians 5:30) [Look up I Corinthians 12:25 to see Christ's estimation of splitting up His body.] If Christ’s body/bride will all meet, be judged by and marry the Saviour together, won’t we all also be in “…the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband…” together? (Revelation 21:2)
