Non-carnivorous Meat

Posted on 23 April, 2017 at 19:20

Do you know how the new versions all love to change the word “meat” to the word “grain,” thinking that the King James has mistakes in it...? Even the Scofield Bible has this word corrected every time it appears throughout the Tanakh (Torah) and prophets, by calling it a “'meal' offering.”

For example, they say that Leviticus chapter 2:1 to 3 is wrong and needs to be corrected...

1  And when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon: 2  And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD: 3  And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.

Here, in Genesis—in the very FIRST chapter, God gives us license to use the word “meat...”

“And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.” (Genesis 1:30)

Therefore, when the Bible calls fine flour and oil a “meat” offering, we UNDERSTAND that it came from a plant (and NOT an animal), as non-carnivorous “meat” to feed us.

God (HIMSELF) called it “meat.”  So should we.
