Let's NOT pretend

Do you know what the problem is with the statement on the sign?

In a word (their word)... "pretend."

The problem is that it's NOT "1993" anymore. Deal with it. And, if you are a born-again Christian deal with this...

"But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." (Daniel 12:4)

Prophetically speaking, before "the end" comes, what Daniel prophesied is the very thing that will happen. In fact, this is what is happening now. I didn't elect it. I'm not even necessarily for it. But, it's what's going on today. So, instead of pretending that things were better before today (which is not "wise" [Ecclesiastes 7:10]), let's "...look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ..." (Philippians 3:20) who will rescue "...us from the wrath to come." (1 Thessalonians 1:10)
