The question was asked recently if “it is still okay to gain understanding of the shadows in the 'holy days'/feasts and the prophetical picture they hold. e.g. seasons, beginning the countdown for Jacobs 70th week ...that week being a specified length of days...”

Today, as I was reading Exodus thirty one, I got my answer...

“Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.” (Exodus 31:15)

Then my mind went to Genesis 2:2...

“And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.”

I said to myself... “Why did God rest, here? Surely, He didn't need to rest. He wasn't tired!”

Let's face it, after everything that the Lord wanted to create was created, He could have made the week to last only six days, with NO rest. (Imagine that. We would have only had a six day week.) Ah, but there was a picture that He wanted to show His new creation that we would not have been able to grasp, had the week been shortened by a day. So, instead of a day of rest to mean a rest from being weary from working (for six days, end to end), the “rest” that He wanted us to see was a break – a break in time. He wanted us to understand that from His Creation to the End of Time there would be six thousand years that would end human history (as we know it) with a “rest” – a break of a thousand years at the end (2 Peter 3:8).

Let's sum that last paragraph up by saying that God rested in order to show us something monumental that He planned would occur sometime after the first six thousand years of history was expired. That something, as we know, will be the Millennium, when His Son will rule and reign, bringing in perfect peace and rest.

Now to your question...

There are other pictures that God, also, wanted us to see that are included in the times, seasons and feasts that can be studied out that will help us determine prophetical events that are yet to come.
